Another weekend in Crimea

I headed to Yalta again, with hopes of finally swimming in the Black Sea. However, the weather did not cooperate. In this picture, I'm trying to capture the graduates walking around in their bright red sashes, but I didn't get a good shot.

This boat is named "Balena."

I did get to see Livadia palace, where the famous Yalta conference took place.

Inside, I stealthily took pictures, trying not to attract notice of the museum-goer watchers.

Another day, another palace. This palace is in Alupka, near Yalta.

The view from the palace.

The Lenin statue in Alupka.

An Armenian church in Yalta. (The picture really doesn't do justice to this striking building).

Detail on the church.

Trees surround the church.

A fly-by tour of Sevastopol on my way back to the train station in Simferopol. Greek ruins, with restored church in background.

Wildflowers in Sevastopol.

No swimming, but I did put my feet in the water.
